Specialist Veterinary Pathologist
After graduation from the University of Queensland in 1979, John worked in mixed practice for three years. He then completed a PhD in immunology at the John Curtin School of Medical Research, Australian National University, studying genetic control of disease resistance in cattle. From 1987 to 1994, he worked as a pathologist at the Victorian government's Regional Veterinary Laboratory at Benalla. He also worked on faculty at Texas A&M University, during 1992-93 and again in 2003-04. Since 1995, John has worked primarily in private veterinary laboratories (Veterinary Pathology Services and then IDEXX Laboratories). He joined Gribbles in 2010 and is based in Brisbane.
John is a Fellow of the Australian College of Veterinary Scientists, a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Pathologists, and has adjunct professorial appointments at the University of Queensland and Texas A&M University. He has authored numerous scientific publications on a variety of diagnostic and research interests. His special interests include liver and gastrointestinal pathology, infectious diseases and toxicology.
