Specialist Veterinary Pathologist
Soon after graduating from the University of Sydney in 1983, Celia spent five years in mixed cattle practice in Ireland.
Following this, she studied pathology in the United States at Purdue University, Indiana, and at the University of Wisconsin. Celia completed her Boards in Anatomical Pathology before returning to Australia.
From 1995 to 1996, Celia worked as a Veterinary Pathologist at the Sydney branch of Veterinary Pathology Services. Following this she spent six years at AAHL in Auckland including four years as manager of the lab.
A registered specialist pathologist in anatomical and clinical pathology, Celia has been part of the Gribbles team since 2002. Widely published in international and national journals, Celia has investigated laboratory diagnosis of bovine abortion, eosinophilic inflammation and mouldy kumara toxicity in Northland cattle, among many other areas of research. Recently she has undertaken a part time PhD in aquaculture studying the immunology and pathology of abalone. Celia maintains a strong interest in the pathology of all mammalian species.
