Dr Peter Phillips

Veterinary Pathologist
A former president of the Australian Society for Veterinary Pathology, Peter has a strong track record of communicating with the veterinary society in its broadest spectrum, having worked in stock and station agencies and the public service before becoming a veterinarian.
Peter graduated with a Bachelor of Veterinary Science with honours from the University of Queensland in 1974. He has worked in mixed and small animal practices in Adelaide, and developed significant production animal expertise working at abattoirs in Queensland and South Australia. In 1984, he was awarded his PhD from the University of Adelaide for studies into sarcocystosis in sheep. He has worked as a pathologist at the IVMS in Adelaide, and in the Bendigo and Benalla Regional Veterinary Laboratories in Victoria.
Peter worked with Gribbles in Melbourne from 1996 to 2000 and rejoined the team in 2004. He is currently based in Adelaide, where his main areas of interest include the pathology of zoo animals and wildlife, ruminants and fish.
