Dr Effie Lee graduated with Bachelor of Veterinary Science (BVSc) from the University of Queensland (UQ) in 2001 and completed a pathology residency at UQ in 2008.
She subsequently gained membership of the Australian and New Zealand College of Veterinary Scientists in pathobiology (MANZCVS) and Master of Philosophy (MPhil) in animal welfare research.
Effie was employed as a veterinary pathologist with DPI NSW at the Elizabeth Macarthur Agricultural Institute (EMAI) since 2008, and has gained considerable experience in production animal disease investigation, diagnostic testing and interpretation, and biosecurity operations. She has maintained knowledge in the pathology of terrestrial and aquatic animal species.
Dr Effie Lee joined Gribbles as a general veterinary pathologist in 2017, and is currently based at Gribbles VETLAB (Australian Clinical Labs), Glenside, Adelaide. She provides professional support for Adelaide veterinarians, Primary Industries and Regions SA (PIRSA) and the rural veterinary community.
Effie enjoys the diversity of veterinary pathology which encompasses clinical and anatomical pathology, biochemistry, haematology, serology, microbiology and molecular genetics. She also has a special interest in animal ethics and welfare, and immunodiagnotics.
